Let me get this straight your buddy died, Tuesday, right? But
today is Saturday and I saw him last night! Rumors and news about the town, get them while they are hot. The chapter listed is when the group first hears the news.
Chapter 1 The Stormblades, put down a band of Kobolds that had been encamped in lava tubes near Cauldron. The Stormblades are yesterdays news, who are these new adventures that stopped the slavers behind all of these kidnappings? This new adventuring group defeated a whole slave-ring and rescued the orphans. The slavers were accessing the city through a forgotten passage, in the shop of Keygan Ghelve. They were based deep below Cauldron in the Malachite Fortress, below even the abandoned city of Jzadirune. One of the members is being hung for taking the law into his own hands. I hear it is that crazy Dwarf that hung out around crater lake all the time. Keygan was convicted as an accessory to the kidnappings and is being branded on the same day as the hanging. They should hang Keygan instead for giving them access to the city. There has been a rash of petty crime of late. Originally, the Kobolds were blamed for the crime but goblins have been spotted in town. They have broken in to a few warehouses, robed some folk, and vandalized buildings with graffiti. So far, the guards have been able to handle it and have killed three goblins. New coins stamped with a jester’s cap instead of the sovereign have been popping up in town. The authorities are trying to find the source and are telling people not to accept them. Most people in the city are taking them, as they are the same weight as the local sovereign. Hookface, the dragon, was spotted flying over the hills to the north! Something is stirring up the wild animals in the area, in particular the lowland baboons. While they are territorial, some packs have been abnormally violent in the past weeks. Chapter 2 Crazy goblin graffiti is cropping up all over town. Most of it is written in chalk and talks about some guy named Drakthar. Alek Tercival (a paladin of St. Cuthbert) is out of town. He traveled to the village of Redgorge to take care of a women who is possessed by a demon! Keygan Ghelve caught the magical disease from Jzadirune and vanished. A mysterious woman with fiery red hair is handing out money and weapons to thugs down by the lake. Chapter 3 The Champions of Cuthbert took care of the goblin issue. The leader of the goblins was a vampire bugbear and he infected Dot, that is why she can drink so much! The churches have lost the wands of control water. The gods are angry that the flood festival was never finished and they are going to flood the city in retribution. The Flood Festival is a front, founded years ago by a cult of Hextor to fund a secret army of bloodthirsty mercenaries hidden in caverns below the city. Chapter 4 Maavu was keeping the umber hulk as a pet. If you did not pay the price he offered you, he'd feed you to the monster. A group of duergar have come to the tunnels below Cauldron. They seek revenge against the heroes who disrupted that slave ring late last year. Cauldron's not the fist city to be build on this site. Adventurers tell stories of a ruined city in the caverns below, a city built by a strange race of monsters. Hookface was killed by a group of adventures north of Cauldron! Chapter 4+ |
