Welcome to my web page for information on translating the game world of Earthdawn into a D20 based system. I would like to stress on the game world part. There is nothing wrong with the game of Earthdawn, it's a very good system, arguably much better then D20. Like most FASA products though what sets it apart is the setting, or game world. Barsaive is the richest setting I have seen for a RPG. It has a intrinsic logic to it that can not be matched for a sword and sorcery fantasy setting. Plus a internal plot (Metaplot) that makes you want to play a political based game, or at the very least draws you to the major characters of the world.  I guess you could say I like it-a lot. This site is dedicated to bringing the flavor of Barsaive to a D20 game. Not to transfer Earthdawn to D20 but to allow you to use the D20 rules (kind of) to experience the wonderful world of Barsaive, enjoy it.

Earthdawn 2ed is currently published by Living Room Games. Earthdawn 1ed is now being supported by Red Brick. This translation has come about from a love of the world of Barsaive and a lack of finding players that love the Earthdawn system. Perhaps a reluctance to learn a new system would be a better way to describe it. Nothing contained in this page is meant to infringe on the copyrights held by Living Room Games, Wizards of the Coast, or FASA.  It is for the enjoyment of all and as a resource for my players. All questions and comments should be directed to the GM and Webmaster.

EARTHDAWN is an RPG that was published by FASA co. Any material of theirs used in this site is theirs by copyright. The material in this site is used without permission, but in no way should be understood as a challenge to those copyrights.

What's New-

November 12th 2003

Thanks to Dalmyr I have added a new page to the sidebar- Feats. My players and I never noticed it was missing, they all had hard copies of the rules. I have also updated the spellcasters (Elementalist, Illusionist, Nethermancer, and Wizard) with the modifications to their spell-lists and some changes to the base class.

October 30th 2003

I am fixing the link ("where my mind might go") to the "Heroes of Darlon"  website. Wait for the front page to load, it's worth it.

Also for all who may be playing this Saturday; look at the Ghostwalk page for instructions on character building. The game I am currently running is set in the Ghostwalk setting using various Necromancer Games products-odd mix..I don't think so.

The majority of the website, including Races, is for converting the Game-world of Earthdawn to D20. I would prefer to run Earthdawn if it came to that but I work with what I get, most gamers I meet want D&D.

October 27th 2003

Working on fixing an oversight with FASA. I hope that I won't have to pull down the site but only time will tell.

October 6th 2003

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONYA!

Things have been al to hectic as we moved to a larger apartment this week. The fact that I was working 12 hour shifts while we moved made it hard to work on the game. The move is over and I am back on the net so it's time to get back to work, on the game that is.

September 24th 2003

Put up some of the old Thread Items from the first game. Along with the original rules I used for them when we first started. The new rules are listed on the Karma page. Thanks to M.A.T.T. for his welcome comments on the conversion. Take a minute and check out his site at www.circleoffour.co.uk. As always send any comments or submissions to Christopher3808@yahoo.com and if you find yourself in South Korea stop on over for a game.

September 23rd 2003

I am posting my D20 3.0 combat cheat sheet here. It is a quick guide to what you can do with the D20 combat system for those who don't sleep with their books.  I hope to finish the 3.5 version soon. Made some changes to the Obsidiman and the Windling.

September 22nd 2003

Updated the house rules on the Ghostwalk page.

September 17th 2003

Once again I have stumbled on a group of D20 players and not Earthdawn. So I have started on the Ghostwalk page for the new D20 campaign, now in 3.5 flavor! Right now it's just the basic guidelines for character creation and a list of the house rules to date. I will be posting more information as needed.

September 15th 2003

Ok, it's been a long time but things have been busy. As I am now living in South Korea and have a new gaming group there will be a few changes to the page. I will still be adding material to Barsaive3ed, first thing will be a 3.5 update. I will also be adding a page or two for the new Ghostwalk campaign as well.

December 18th 2002

Changed a few thing on the Karma page, definitely a need to read for my players. Added some stuff to the Our Game page. Changed Fire Blood (sorry Kev).

December 1st 2002

Modified the Purifier and the Obsidiman. Modified format a bit.

November 22nd 2002

Added the Purifier and the Horror Stalker to the Disciplines page. Removed the Poll and Guestbook.

October 19th 2002

Changed Dead Fall so it is easier to use with minis. Customizing E-Tools to include all of the house rules, Passions, Karma, and races. When they are finished the files will be posted under our game.

October 12th 2002

Fixed the Thief and added the variant of the Archer the Sniper to the Disciplines page. I also added a few blatant plugs for Stiggybaby's a great on-line shop for all the out of print Earthdawn stuff you need (and you know you need lots!)

October 9th 2002

All of the Core Disciplines are done! I have reformatted them as well. Many of the saves are still blank if you have any ideas please send them to me at GM and Webmaster.

October 8th 2002

Disciplines are done up to Warrior. Some minor changes to previous Disciplines for balance.

October 7th 2002

I Added a Poll page I will announce here when there is a new poll, like now.

We had a brainstorming/birthday party with the players and came up with a lot of good ideas. We changed Karma Boost to tone it down, some of the Archer talents. We also fleshed out the spell problem and Tonya is in the process of typing up the converted D&D spell lists to be posted soon. Any converted Earthdawn spells? Send them to the needy gamers at christopher3808@yahoo.com Sally Struthers won't thank you but I will, heck I will even post them with your name attached. Thanks to all for their input and help this weekend and Happy Birthday to Tonya!

October 3rd 2002

You might notice that there is both a Beastmaster and Scout Discipline and a Beastmaster and Scout D20 Class listed under Characters. When we started we did not use the Karma and Adept rules so the D20 class of Scout and Beastmaster were created. Now that they are both Disciplines the D20 class will be phased out. The goal is to create a system that can drop onto any D20 game without recreating the characters, just adding new races, equipment, Talents, and a Passion or two.

October 1st  2002

The Whole page is new right now, I will be adding as much as I can as time allows. For more information on the conversion before I can get the web page formatted check out the Yahoo Group Barsaive3ed. The game journal is also archived there.
